Katie did some sessions with the toddlers and their mums at the ACE Centre in Kelso. The mums and kids really got into the singing and missed her when she stopped. They may be trying to keep things going as a group. Fingers crossed. It would be really good to follow up this pilot.

Creative fashionDuring this period we got to work with Hawick High School and their Creative fashion Show. Clair Hood, head of the department, asked if we could set up a school TRASH band to play at the actual fashion show. We jumped at the chance. We met up with the group interested in taking part, including Steven, the student leader of their drumming club. We arranged for those interested to come to Artbeat on Wednesday after school. Fin, Haley and Bill did a preliminary mentoring session with the group and then let them get on with their own ideas. After a couple of weeks we agreed to let them borrow gear and practice at the school. The final performance on the 25th March was a great success for them and complimented the fashion show very well. Feed back since has suggested possible further links might be possible.

We welcomed Jarek and Sebastian from Gdansk to do some joint work and go over their plans for the trip in May to Poland
